i am extending my weekend. today i will do nothing but work on pictures, get stoned, and listen to station to station on repeat.
my neighbors must think i’m insane. for this “rage” shoot i basically need to stand right in front of my window “raging” and fake screaming in slow motion in my underwear.
“uterus” and “menses” are not in my rapid entry text dictionary on my cell. what the hell does kyocera think women text about?!?! HELLO.

artists are handicapped if we are too afraid to fully express ourselves. our characteristics, traits, feelings, beliefs are what we project into our art, and if we don’t express them fully the work does not speak as loudly.
and one of the hardest things about being an artist is finding the courage to exaggerate your characteristics and traits; to really make them apparent and visible to others, either in your day to day life or in your art. that’s putting yourself on the line, opening yourself up to all kinds of criticism and rejection.
sometimes i think that being an artist involves exaggerating your own characteristics and traits to the point that you live and breathe your own mythology. and i don’t necessarily mean only the loud types, outgoing types, angsty or neurotic types. the quiet types, shy types, melancholy types can take up just as much space. i think that’s why it can be so hard to get along/live with...
